Recorded in 24 hours, this record tells the story of an opening in a forest behind the artist known as Two Bicycles’—the same man you know as Teen Daze and The Tremulance—childhood cabin. This mysterious clearing was isolated and littered with old bed frames and car batteries. The artist would frequent this woodsy haunt for recluse on warm summer days. He later received word that his covert sanctuary was being clear cut for a housing development. Thus The Holy Forest is an epitaph and sonic reconstruction of a beloved childhood hermitage. With as many streams of light that surely pressed through the foliage, this folk noir ep twinkles all at once with a nostalgia, a remorse, and a fantastical retreat that will lead the listener into their very own contemplative solitude.
Two Bicycles is on tour right soon here and he’s playing in Edmonton at the Wunderbar on March 1st. Here’s details.
