Balacade – Specific, Northwest

In the spirit of the pacific northwest, Victoria’s Balacade exemplifies the natural wonderment musically characteristic of other geographic partisans familiar to fans of K Records and P.W. Elverum and Sun. With his new record themed around David Lynch’s Twin Peaks, Specific, Northwest is a outdoor melody to the living. Balacade’s voice is redolent of Chad Vangaalen and his arrangements touch on the aforementioned’s capability of electrically tapping into folk without breaching folk-rock per se. Let the sunshine ethos of Balacade wash away today’s surprise April blizzard. I’ll definitely be digging this up in time for the inevitable surprise May blizzard. Look out for jams “Plate Glass Effect” and “The Wind Over Twin Peaks”.
