Jessica Jalbert – Paris Green

It has been a long time coming: Jessica Jalbert has released the first single from her upcoming debut record, Brother Loyola, coming out in September. “Paris Green” is a squeeling rock shuffle encrypted with the most delicate of lyrical treatment, an endearing love song that remains sincere without the melodrama. For continuity, the paris green that Jalbert references is the toxic but dazzling variety of emerald paint that many of the impressionists of southern France heavily incorporated into their work but were slowly poisoned by. Ironically, despite the toxic nature, many of them are quoted as saying it’s the bomb colour and their absolute couldn’t-live-without-it fave, kinda like this song.
