Pat Jordache is the bomb. He’s got an underwater voice that matches perfectly with his penchant for bubbling guitars and far off echoing pool percussion. The strange dichotomy of his tenorous vocals and their soprano back ups is endlessly interesting. All of this is heightened by the playfulness of songs like “Gold Bound.” Never is he not serious about his music but he is nonetheless not taking himself so painfully serious that we’re put off by the often depressing lyrical content. I strongly recommend this album and I strongly recommend you go see Pat Jordache live at the Wunderbar on Tuesday the 21st with No Gold, Sans Aids, and Service:Fair. Here’s the event! Do the right thing.
