Bronx Cheerleader – Real Punks Don’t Sing About Girls

Don’t be mislead, Bronx Cheerleader are from St. Catherines, Ontario and they aren’t a punk band. Musically, this band is fiercely diverse. They push the rock n’ roll button on the opener, then spin on over to studio electronic experimentation on my personal favourite, ‘Get Out Your Guns’, and don’t finish until they touch base with everything from alt country on ‘Cheap Laughs’ and ‘Ann Coulter’ to shoegazing 90’s pop rock on ‘Area C’. All in all, Bronx Cheer-leader succeed in minting a balanced, diverse, and highly listenable record. And that’s no small feat!
