Said The Whale – Little Mountain

Said The Whale are major players out of Vancouver. On their new record, Little Mountain, they layer strata after strata of pop complexity in a Vancouverite modum that seems to be commonly accessed by a wide variety of British Columbians like Oh No! Yoko, Behind Sapphire, We Are The City, etc etc. This modus operandi sounds somewhat inspired by a mix of early Dan Bejar, the eternal half life and blissful decay of math rock, and an alternating series of caffeine boosts and crashes. But Said The Whale also tap into their folk chops for ultimate consilience. All in all the listener achieves higher levels of consciousness and a rich enjoyment. Dig it:
