Western Symbols – Nanook

Ian Waddell has distilled his can-rock influences into this bewailed three song journey to the heart, “trying to be strong.” Nanook is expressive, possessed by the cool confident spirit of a master of bears. Spirited riff work builds a wilderness for Waddell’s declarations, conjuring an ἀρετή ethic of self realization. It reads back the inscription on the temple wall of the Pythia: γνῶθι σεαυτόν, KNOW THYSELF. And you can too!
