Flow My Tears – I

If Casiotone For The Painfully Alone collaborated with Morrissey in the 90s, maybe Flow My Tears would tour with them. Before us gleams a ten-diamond 24 carat necklace hewn with a delightful melodrama. Witness the drama of “Devil’s Prey” where Flow My Tears’ gorgeous bratty croon declaims “these whispers are the devil / and he knows how to prey,” followed by a tight little guitar solo. This record is a truly pleasing discovery. I strain my mind to think of anyone else in Canada doing this kind of thing right now. Catchy, dire, perfect for turning nineteen and smoking cigarettes late into the night with your first copy of anything Oscar Wilde.
